1 cup Chana dal washed and soaked for 3-4 hrs! Instant pot or pressure cooker – oil – cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, dry red chillies- pinch of heeng – cumin seeds – sliced green chilies, sauté – add chopped onion, ginger sauté – add tomatoes, let cook for 2 mins- add spices + chana masala, anardana – add dal and let cook for 4-5 mins – add bay leaf, 2 1/2 cups water, garlic clove, salt – pressure cook for 15 mins in IP or 4-5 whistles in a cooker, natural pressure release – bring to a boil, finish with garam masala, juice of 1/2 lime, cilantro.
